Our Story
About Watch Empire
An independent Dublin watch shop for vintage and pre-loved pieces — where passion meets precision, on the second floor of Powerscourt Townhouse Centre.

The house
Built one watch, one customer at a time
Watch Empire began with a single bench, a loupe and a stubborn belief: a fine watch deserves a second life. We opened in Dublin in 2012, first known to many Grafton Street regulars as Kish Jewellers. The name on the door is now Watch Empire; the same people still sit at the same bench, a minute from William Street South.
We choose stock carefully and sell honestly — which is why most of our customers arrive on the recommendation of another. Every piece that leaves the boutique has been inspected and guaranteed by the same people who will greet you at the door.

Tibor, on the bench
The in-house horologist is Tibor. The bench does battery replacement and strap replacement. If you walk in with a Seamaster to try on, he is the person who can tell you, in plain English, what is original and what has been replaced on a watch we are selling.
That conversation happens at the counter, not after a form. We would rather lose a sale than send someone home with a watch we would not wear ourselves. Tibor also trains the eye of whoever is buying that week — so the Cartier, Omega and Jaeger-LeCoultre pieces on the trays have already been through the same standard you will hear described when you sit down.
Appointments help if you want a particular watchmaker and a quiet half hour. Walk-ins are welcome monday to saturday, 11:00–18:00. Call 01 679 9107 if the piece is unusual and you want a specific piece on the pad.
How we work
Buying a watch in Powerscourt
The shop is a boutique, not a warehouse. Stock turns as pieces sell. What you see on the website is what is on the second-floor trays today — pre-loved Cartier, Omega, Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Breitling, Longines and Tudor, plus straps, cases and the odd genuine bracelet link.
We do not run a cart. If a watch interests you, enquire or come in: try it on, ask about the movement, and decide with the piece on your wrist. Walking away and thinking about it is normal. Dublin collectors know the difference between a shop that wants a transaction and one that has to stand over the watch after you leave.
Find us at 59 William Street South, Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, Dublin 2 D02 HV00. The Powerscourt Townhouse Centre is a minute from Grafton Street; we are on the second floor. Formerly Kish Jewellers — same room, same bench, same number.
