A listing photograph flattens a watch. You cannot feel the weight of a Cartier Pasha, or whether a 35 mm Omega looks like a dress watch or a coin on your wrist, until it is on. The picture at the top of this page is that test, in this building.
Cartier still says the Pasha idea starts with a 1943 round watch and a 1985 series (Cartier). Diameter on a ticket is only half the story. Lug-to-lug length and how the lugs drop are the other half, and a phone camera lies about both.

What you need to know

Why is the photograph not enough?
A short-lugs 36 mm can wear larger than a long-lugs 34 mm. A polished bezel throws light that a phone camera turns into a white smear. That is not a theory. It is what we see when someone walks in with a printout and a disappointed face.
Chrono24 is where a lot of those printouts start. If you are buying from a listing anyway, use the secret of buying vintage watches as the checklist. Ask for movement photographs. Budget a service. Omega’s own window is 5 to 8 years (Omega, 2026).
We would rather you sit with the watch than buy it from a screen and send it back. If you are treating the piece as money, read the buying tests on vintage watches in Dublin first, then look at the object.

What do we put on the pad?
The current tray is on vintage watches you can try on. Brand trays are faster if you already know you want a Cartier or an Omega. Names we actually put on Irish wrists are on best vintage watches in Dublin.
Bring the shirt you will wear it with if you want to be fussy. We shorten a long bracelet before you leave the second floor when the piece is going home with you.
The watches in older articles are not a stock list. Check the shop or ring us before you travel.
What happens after you try it on?
If you need a battery or a strap, that is watch repair in Dublin. If you have not been to the shop yet, start with visiting the shop in Powerscourt.
Gold and steel do not weigh the same on a shirt cuff. A hollow-feeling plated case is a different afternoon from a solid gold Cellini. That is why we ask you to sit down. We do not sell from a warehouse photograph. Sit with one, then decide.
